La Rosa Vintage
1711 Haight St. San Francisco (415) 668-3744
30's, 40's and 50's rule in this store - with some 60's. A little of everything
here. Men's and Women's shoes, hats, gloves, suits, 2-tone jackets, dresses...
the whole vintage sha-bang. A certain must go!
Price wise - A little on the pricey end, but for the most part, what you pay
will be worth the dough, certainly some nice pieces.
Guys and Dolls
3789 24th St., San Francisco (415) 285-7174
Small store, I do mean small. 40's and 50's rule in this store - with some 60's.
A little of everything here. Great women's gabardine suits! Vintage
reproductions, flowers, trinkets, men's suits, nice gab too. I dig this store, a
must go!
Price wise - What you pay will be worth the dough, certainly some nice
pieces. Though some short sleeve men's I would consider pricey.
Unforgettable
2435 Polk St., San Francisco (415) 474-0115
Relocated from Petaluma, they only do women's, with just men's hats and ties....
Very few items past 1960... you won't find any polyester in this store.
Aardvark's Odd Ark
1501 Haight St., San Francisco (415) 621-3141
Be ready to wade through gobs and gobs of 60's and 70's. Here and there you'll
spot a great piece. Make sure you check out the garment, some of their stuff is
really beat up. No shoes. If you have the time, a must go. I've found plenty of
hidden gems there.
Price wise - If you find that one or two good pieces, it will be worth the
time.
American Rag
1305 Van Ness Ave., San Francisco (415) 441-0537
Tucked in the back of the store is oodles of 50's, 60's and 70's. A smattering
of 40's too. Hit and miss - sometimes you'll find it all, other times, nada.
Price-wise - Middle of the row, not really any nice pieces for collectors.
Retro-Fit Vintage
910 Valencia St ., San Francisco (415) 550-1530
Again, a store that used to be home to a good amount of 40's and 50's. The ole'
70's bug has hit them. Very cool changing room, the door is one you would find
on a battleship.
Price-wise - When they had good stuff, not bad.

Schauplatz Clothing & Furniture
791 Valencia St., San Francisco (415) 864-5665
If you are looking for 40's, you've walked into the wrong store. 60's and 70's
is the king here. Once in blue-moon you'll find something else and it will
probably be 80's.
Price-wise - The one 1940's gab jacket they had was pricey.
Wasteland
1660 Haight St., San Francisco (415) 863 3150
Wasteland is a mixing pot of used clothing from all era's. Mainly 60's - 80's.
They do carry vintage clothing from the 40's - 50's. Reet vintage denim, ladies
dresses, skirts, fitted jackets, men's gab shirts, western wear. Certainly worth
a quick look.
Price wise - Mostly on the upper-spectrum, but certainly some nice pieces on
the wall.
